If you want to know how to create a unique look without sacrificing great style you have to read this post. It was inspired by a picture of my friend Mohan and I. We bumped into each other on our way to church one Sunday after not seeing each other for many months. Needless to say that the reunion was out of this world. We decided to spend the entire day together along with a few friends. We of course, took tons of pictures to capture the reunion and had a blast.

As I flipped through our pictures, I realized that we were both wearing colorful pants and decided to write a post about it and give you a few tips. So here they are: 3 quick tips on how to take your pant-game to the next level.

#1 NO SHADE
When wearing colorful pants there aren’t any specific hues to reach for but in my case I like to go for bright colors: Kelly green, orange even hot pink. Since pants only cover your bottom half and are nowhere near your face, you don’t need to worry about how your skin tone will take to a certain color. Just experiment with prints and solids to discover what you like.

#2 NEUTRALIZE
If you are new to the colorful pant-wearing gang, try to offset the unconventional hue with neutral pairing pieces. Here are a couple of options for you to try.

For fall / winter, I like to pair bright pants with black because the contrast between them really pops. In the warmer months, white and ivory are great options to coordinate with your colorful stunners.

#3 FIT IS KING
Ill-fitting pants are a no-go in every color. When shopping for colorful pants as for traditional ones, color is queen but fit is king. Even if you find a pair in the color of your dreams, if they don’t flatter you, walk away. Have faith that the perfect pair will come your way.

Fashion is meant to be fun so take a risk and dare to wear colorful pants.
