Cleansing your face at night is one of the most important steps in your beauty regimen. Throughout the day, your face is exposed to so much dirt, pollution and bacteria. All this grime sits on your face and get mixed with your natural skin oils and makeup. If you don’t clean it all off each day it can slip into your pores and cause your skin to breakout and become dull. To remedy to this many of us use makeup removing wipes but the more you use them the more you probably realized that they are made with a plethora of harmful chemicals and can be pretty expensive.  Who needs that? Not us!

I found a all natural makeup remover wipes recipe and started using it a few days ago and I can tell you it is working wonders on my face. It is really easy to make at home using all-natural ingredients. If you decide to try it you won’t be disappointed. Here is what you will need.

Ingredients:

– Distilled Water, 2 cups

– Castile Soap, 1 tablespoon

– Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tablespoons

– Essential oil, 10 – 15 drops – all essential oils are not created equal. You can get high quality food grade essential oils from your natural food store. Use lavender oil if you have  dry skin and  tea tree oil also known as melaleuca oil if you have  oily, acne prone skin.

– Medium size rectangular shape plastic container with a lid.

– Thick paper towels – buy the best quality you can find for your budget. You want them to be durable since they will be soaked in liquid. I use the half sized ones so I don’t have to cut them to fit the container. But if you only have access to large sheets you’ll just need to cut the stack with good quality scissors.

– Scissors

Instructions:

Unroll your roll of paper towels folding each sheet at the perforated edge to create a pile. Do not tear the paper at the perforated edge, you want the sheets to remain connected. If you used large paper towel sheets you need to cut the paper towels in half so they can fit the rectangular shaped container.

Then, pour all liquid ingredients into your container, place the lid to close it and shake it until the water, oils and soap are mixed together. Be careful when you shake, liquid might spill so do this carefully. Once that is done take your paper towel stack and submerge it into the solution. Let it sit for 10 minutes and your inexpensive, all-natural makeup remover wipes are ready to be used.

Since we used all-natural ingredients and no preservatives to make these wipes they should be kept in the refrigerator.

Try it and let me know how you like your results!
