In today’s extremely competitive world encouragement and motivational bits are like pure gold but sometimes we fail to think about the true meaning of what we read! I wanted to share this quote with you today and get a conversation going because it can be really motivating but can also be misleading.

The quote says: You owe it to yourself to do something remarkable with your life.

I’ve lived in a couple major cities in my life and have encountered a slew of ambitious and successful people. The drive that they have and resolve to succeed is something to be admired. However, the fact that the quote says: “You OWE it to yourself” leaves me a little perplexed. I have found that selfish ambition isn’t the best motivation when your true goal is to do something remarkable. Some of the most “remarkable” people in the world have actually been those whose motivation was to impact others and change the world for the greater good of mankind. Think about Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. Those two men did something remarkable with their lives but not because they owed it to themselves but because they cared about others.

What are your thoughts on this? What is your motivation? Let’s talk!
