Seven fashion shows took place at Toronto Fashion Week on Tuesday showcasing over 12 designers.

TATSUAKI

Dan Liu presented a sweet collection of spring and summer dresses. His models smiled and held flowers down the runway. He was inspired by the Goddess of Death this is why he started the show with black dresses. Stay tuned for my interview with him.

LAURA SIEGEL

Siegel presented a collection of tie dye tops, dresses and sweaters perfect for a girl about town. She showcased a dusty color palette with hints of aqua for brightness. I particularly liked the texture of her knits. [SEE PICTURES]

TRAVIS TADDEO

Taddeo created a collection true to his personal style: effortless, cool and street. Don’t be fooled however his creations were anything but cheap. He paid acute attention to the details and workmanship. I fell in love with the leather shorts and draped dresses. Stay tuned for my interview with him.

JNBY
The JNBY aesthetic is muted with a natural feel. The Asian brand presented a collection of crushed linen separates, sheer tops and floor grazing dresses. [SEE PICTURES]

MERCEDES-BENZ START UP NATIONAL FINAL
The Mercedes-Benz competition is one of the most sought after showcase for young talent. Eight design hopefuls showed their collection: Dreamboat Lucy, Eliza Faulkner, Faded Lifestyle, HD Homme, Hip and Bone, Malorie Urbanovitch, Matiere Noire and Pedram Karimi. The victors? Two designers were chosen: Matiere Noire and Malorie Urbanovitch.

MELISSA NEPTON

Nepton is one of my favorite Montreal designers. She presented a collection of separates inspired by Asian culture. It was her 2nd time showing this collection as she was also at Montreal Fashion Week. Seeing it again gave me new appreciation for the details and I also spotted a few new pieces. Stay tuned for my interview with her.

SID NEIGUM

This collection was a shocker. I didn’t know Neigum before Tuesday and his designs exceeded my expectations. The young designer presented an edgy mix of dresses, skirts and laser cut details which were to die for. Stay tuned for my interview with him.
