Check out the list below for easy things you can do to boost your disposition without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. FAKE A SMILE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The simple action of smiling even when you have nothing to smile about can change your attitude.\u00a0Decades of research show that your mood can\u00a0be\u00a0improved and your stress be reduced if you put on a big smile. So go ahead and sport your best fake smile.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. LAUGH AT YOURSELF<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We&#8217;ve all done at least one silly and embarrassing thing in our lives. Taking a small stumble while walking on the sidewalk or mistaking a stranger for someone you know can be awkward at first but in hindsight they are pretty funny. Think back on these situations and just laugh at yourself. Discontentment with oneself often comes from taking yourself too seriously. Life is short so laugh a little.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. CHAT WITH A CLOSE FRIEND<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Sometimes all you need is a little girl talk. The subject doesn&#8217;t really matter. Just hearing that warm voice on the other end of the receiver, sharing your emotions and laughing can do wonders for your mood.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. THINK ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE THINGS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I recently visited <a title=\"LOOKBOOK: Los Angeles Edition\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fashionwithaconscience.org\/2014\/08\/05\/lookbook-los-angeles-edition\/\">California<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0thoroughly loved the experience. Thinking back on this trip always puts a smile on my face. If you are in a funk, find something from your present or past that brings you joy and meditate on it. It can be a loved one, food or a place that you travelled to like me. All that matters is that the mere thought of it\u00a0brings you happiness in that moment.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>5. WATCH A COMEDY\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Laughter is the best medicine. Allow yourself to make abstraction of your responsibilities for an hour of two, disconnect from social media, cozy up in your couch and watch something hilarious! My go to movies when I need a good giggle are <strong>Coming to America<\/strong> with Eddy Murphy and <strong>Monster-in-Law<\/strong> with Jennifer Lopez.
