First, we looked into five commonly used toxic ingredients that could be making you sick, ingredients like toluene, propylene glycol and phthalates. Then, we added seven more toxic ingredients to the list, chemicals such as 1,4-dioxane, PEG compounds, and formaldehyde which can cause irreversible damage to your health.<\/p>\n<p>Many toxic ingredients found in personal care products have been tested and associated to a variety of health issues. Here are 5 important ones:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cancer,<\/li>\n<li>Endocrine disruption,<\/li>\n<li>Allergies,<\/li>\n<li>Birth defects,<\/li>\n<li>Immunotoxicity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Non-toxic beauty products enter stage left.*<\/p>\n<p>The health hazards I listed above are not to be taken lightly. That is why I am so passionate about researching and promoting the use of non-toxic products.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>What to avoid (in a nutshell)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>All beauty products are not created equal. Some are highly effective while others are a waste of money. Moreover, mixed-in at different levels of performance are healthy and not-so healthy products because of synthetic ingredients like parabens, sulfates, petro-ingredients, PEG-compounds, phthalates, etc. These toxic ingredients come in many forms and are pervasive in everyday personal hygiene products.
