It\u2019s no secret, I like to get A LOT of wears out of my clothes and shoes and everything in between. I believe that being a Repeat Offender {Trademark pending, jk} is by far one of the most sustainable things you can do. Before thinking about purchasing anything new, shopping your closet and coming up with a plethora of ways to wear and style your clothes is a non-negotiable. You might think: “well, there\u2019s no fun in that” but you would be sadly mistaken. As I said during my “Upcycling Your Closet with Kathleen”<\/em><\/strong> Workshop<\/em><\/strong>, I did during the Nature Needs Heroes Tour<\/a> with Timberland: \u201cWhenever you feel the need to buy something new, take inventory of what you already own and awaken your inner stylist.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have no qualms about it. If it\u2019s good enough for Michelle Obama, Tiffany Haddish and Jill Biden, then it\u2019s good enough for me. The former First Lady wore the same Thakoon dress to a NATO Summit (2009) and Easter Services (2012). She also wore a Thom Browne dress to the Democratic National Convention (2012) and again for the 3rd and final Presidential Debate, a month later. So what is it to me if I wear the same statement blazer to speak at SXSW in Austin and a media dinner in New York?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been posting about my repeat offenses for over a year now and it’s time to make it official. The Repeat Offender series will explore twenty-first century sustainability and as it develops no garment category will be left out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s ease into this together by starting with jackets\u2026 and by “together” I mean I would like to invite you to join me by styling one of your favorite jackets three or more ways and share pictures.
