Head wraps are a staple in my life. I wear them to spruce up casual looks and red carpet stunners alike. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Did you know?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn 1785, Spanish colonial governor Esteban Rodriguez Mir\u00f3 mandated that Afro-Creole women wear tignons, a turban-like head wrap, to undermine their &#8220;exotic&#8221; allure. Tignon Laws aimed to reaffirm the social order by marking women of color as different. Afro-Creole women protested, decorating their tignons with jewels, ribbons, and feathers. Ultimately, the tignon became a defiant fashion statement for free women of color.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head wraps can be styled in so many ways and most malleable, large scarves will do the trick. Even infinity scarves can make great head wraps. I wear them every once in a while now but there was a season when I rocked a new head scarf everyday. Needless to say that I now own more scarves than I want to admit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are 3 of my go-to head wrap looks.
