The month for lovers is back! Where did the time go? Just yesterday we were counting down to the New Year, making resolutions, feeling all the guilt from overeating and overspending and now we are here! January started the year with a bang: award seasons’ tear jerking moments like Lupita Nyong\u00e2\u20ac\u2122o’s win for Best Supporting Actress at the Critics Choice Awards, red carpet best dressed moments, record snow falls and bad weather.\u00c2\u00a0And although February’s weather forecasts are just as dreadful, there are plenty of reasons to love February.<\/p>\n

\"gifts\"<\/a>1. IT\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S MY BIRTHDAY <\/b><\/p>\n

Yes! I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m a February baby! Even though birthdays mean getting older, I love celebrating them! They are a blessing from God! When I think of all the great minds that have left us at a young age, I thank God for my life and the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones year after year. Plus, I get to get all dolled up and eat cake! What’s not to love?<\/p>\n

2. BLACK HISTORY MONTH<\/b><\/p>\n

What a treat to share my birthday with such a significant month! The month where we highlight the history of the black community: the struggles, strength, resiliency, freedom and hopes. Most communities don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get their own month but we do. If you are not a person of color I suggest you take this opportunity to get to know us better and delve into our multiple cultures. We are a beautiful people full of diversity, potential, complexities and talent.<\/p>\n

\"Fashion-Week\"<\/a>3. FASHION WEEK MONTH<\/b><\/p>\n

Fashion Week Month is basically an insane marathon of fashion shows taking place back to back in the worlds most influential fashion capitals: New York, Toronto, Paris, London and Milan. Do I really need to explain why I love Fashion Week Month?\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s my favorite time of the year because I get to travel, see fabulous fashion, reunite with some of my favorite style setters, dress up and create interesting interviews and reviews for you!<\/p>\n

4. SHOPPING ON A BUDGET<\/b><\/p>\n

If you know anything about shopping, you know that January and February are prime-time for shopping on a budget. Sales are everywhere and I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m talking deep discounts. So if you can arm yourself with enough patience to rummage through racks, you can score great items for next winter. February is also when retailers debut spring merchandise on their floors. You can get your hands on the colorful new trends and be ahead of the pack at the first sign of sunshine.<\/p>\n

\"1274px-Chrysanthemum_February_2008-1\"<\/a> 5. TECHNICALLY THE LAST MONTH OF WINTER<\/b><\/p>\n

Since the winter started last year I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been praying for warm weather. My prayers have so far gone unanswered but I know that come March I will have my way. I genuinely hate winter but this year I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve chosen to embrace the harsh temps and engage in winter friendly activities such as ice-skating and I actually had fun! It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s all about perspective!<\/p>\n
