If you follow me on social media {which you should, @ConsciousNChic} you know that something major happened this November: I was featured in Vice for the first time (but not the last).  The piece is called: “All for Change. Change for All.” It is a video editorial on sustainable fashion and what it means to live according to your values.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend you do!

As you will see, we had an amazing day on set discussing the evolution of our lives, work and the fashion industry as it pertains to sustainability.  We started the day at Vice HQ for breakfast and fittings. Then we headed to Fort Greene Park for the first part of our shoot. The weather in Brooklyn was perfect. The simplicity of the set and juxtaposition of the modern table and a beautiful green scape deeply spoke to me.

The team was a dream to work with. I enjoyed getting to know and talking with the minds behind the brand about everything under the sun like Shahbano and I’s obsession with mukbangs. Seriously, if you’ve never seen one, they’re addictive.

None of it felt like work but it did give me a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation for how far we’ve come, my contributions to the progress we’ve made and the ground still left to cover – pun definitely intended.

If you’re interested in seeing the behind-the-scenes from that day, stay tuned for the vlog.
